In the pocket: Extra deep-pocket sheets make your life easier

We're in the middle of a crazy and stressful time. The last thing you need is to wrestle with your fitted sheet to get it on and then be constantly tugging it back after it's popped off the corner of the mattress in the middle of the night!

Most of today's mattresses are thicker and plusher than those in the past so your old sheets are just too short. Standard mattresses used to range in thickness from 6-9 inches, but it's now common to find mattresses 12-15 inches thick (and beyond!). Consumers are buying thicker mattresses not only for comfort reasons but a mattress can also be an aesthetic choice to finish the look of a four-poster bed, upholstered headboard, or another dramatic bed style.

If you've ever found yourself in a tug of war with a fitted sheet, fear no more! Bedside Manor can make your life easier with our large selection of extra deep pocket sheets that will fit your mattress and stay put all night long. And you won't have to sacrifice softness or durability.

Here are some of our favorites:

Sferra's fitted sheets feature elastic all the way around, pulling extra fabric under your mattress and ensuring an extra-snug fit. Sferra sheets have a 17" pocket. We love the Fiona collection which is woven from luxurious long-staple cotton and available in several sateen colors.

Clean and crisp, Bovi's Simply Percale fitted sheets fit mattresses up to 18 inches thick.

Stamattina's crisp white Bianca fitted sheet (currently 20 percent off!) features 16-inch deep pockets and pairs with several collections including fun yet classic Catia.

Add some lightweight luxury to your bed with Annie Selke's Monarch Sateen collection, which features 17-inch pockets.

In the mood for a playful print? Matouk's Alexandra collection features a fun yet classic floral in two different shades and fits mattresses up to 17 inches thick.

The fresh florals from Yves Delorme have coordinating fitted sheets with an extra deep pocket of 18 inches.

A note about folding fitted sheets:

You've spent your quarantine re-organizing your linen closet — now keep it looking nice with our handy trick for folding fitted sheets:

The best way to fold a fitted sheet is to tuck the corners into each other and then fold over the sides to make a long rectangle. From there, you can fold it into a neat square.
